Description

A time capsule of nostalgia on film.
Before YouTube, camera phones, and GoPro, the Videofreex were on the streets documenting life as it happened. Sweet, funny, or shocking, but always candid, their footage tells the truth. These radical guerilla filmmakers went to the source to tape and disseminate real news for the people, by the people. Formed by a diverse group of young adults, the Freex were the early adopters of home video-making equipment and went on to produce hundreds of video reels, many of them close-ups of the most memorable social movements of the '60s and '70s. Packed full of real and powerful footage, Here Come the Videofreex provides deep insight into one of the most influential film groups of the 20th century. - Nina Zheng
