Anna’s never far from her cell phone, and after a night of heavy partying, she wakes up groggy and hung over only to find that she has a new app, IRIS. Initially helpful and clever, IRIS soon begins behaving in cruel, mysterious ways. When it becomes clear she can’t simply delete the unwanted malevolent app, Anna’s efforts to confront it will set in motion a fearful series of events that will put her life, and those around her, in fatal danger. While your movie experience is typically free of cell phones, director Bobby Boermans’ APP is the “First Film for the Second Screen,” where the audience is encouraged to participate on their phones.
